Compelled Podcast

Listener Feedback

I just wanted to reach out and thank you for this podcast. I want to share how God used it to help me begin a healing process after years of depression and suicide attempts.

I’ll briefly share some of what I’ve gone through the past 3 years and how much of a blessing this podcast has been.

We moved to begin full time ministry from PA to AL right when we received the news my Dad was dying from cancer - he was taken to heaven 2 months after diagnosis. We went through a horrific hurricane and 4 months later a tornado in which I thought my children and I would not survive. I lost a baby (our 3rd loss), but developed a bleeding disorder (I had one but it became worse) and bled for 6 months without relief, seeing doctor after doctor.

During this time I developed severe depression and planned to take my life.

I ended up pregnant and having our 3rd living child. I still suffered with depression.

Another planned attempt, God intervened.

It’s been 3 years of this and during all of this, God called my husband to pastor. I resented that.

But God worked on me.

6 months ago we visited with a pastor friend and his wife.

They poured truth and love into us and they suggested I listen to Compelled. And God began to work in my heart, uprooting bitterness, giving spiritual victory.

I love listening to the podcast. It encourages me. I needed to know I wasn’t alone.

It’s been 6 months of victory. I found out I had Lyme disease and that played into my bleeding disorder and depression.

I’ve been receiving treatment and am (with my doctor’s help) weaning off of my antidepressants.

My husband is back in school studying to pastor and pastoring a small church plant in AL. God is good and gracious to us.

Thank you so much for putting this podcast together. It has been a tool in my healing. God bless you!

I was an atheist homosexual who came to Christ (again), and I just needed to listen to something that was going to saturate me with the love of God.

I strongly believe in the power of testimony, and after some searching through some podcasts on the podcast app, I listened to yours, and I just never stopped listening.

It’s amazing to hear peoples encounters with Jesus, especially when they come from a place so broken, it’s just so encouraging and beautiful.

This podcast has strengthened my faith and understanding of God.

I’m currently going through a very difficult time in my life right now and these stories of true change and God’s faithfulness have given me a confidence in who God is like I’ve never had before.

I starting listening on “accident” while going through a really tough time last Christmas. I was driving for GrubHub to make a little extra money and had previously been HOOKED on watching Cold Case Files. I was listening to a podcast on them too while was driving.

I was really depressed and knew that I needed to reorient my focus back to Christ but wanted that compelling story too. I don’t even remember how I found Compelled.

The first story I listened to spoke right into my situation and God started revealing my own unconfessed sin, specifically pride.

This has become my absolute favorite podcast.

I just want to say that I have really enjoyed your podcast. My kids will often ask to listen to an episode while in the car (of course I must heavily vet which episodes they hear).

I love that they can hear real stories about how God is working in the lives of others. It makes God come alive today!

My wife discovered your podcast several months ago, and we eagerly look forward to every new episode!

The most recent podcast on pornography addiction has probably been the best episode of any podcast I’ve ever listened to.

Absolutely amazing! In the matter of a podcast, my perspective has completely changed on how we get the opportunity to serve God. Thank you!

Thank you for the interview you did with Catherine Zoller. My sister ran away from our home this summer. It broke our hearts within the family. I dealt, and still fight, with some bitterness towards her...

The episode blessed my heart, and reminded me of my earlier teenage years, and how God brought me to where I am today. It is only by His grace that I am in church and trying to serve Him now.

To hear of His hand at work in mightier ways in Catherine’s life has given me hope for my sister, in that one day she might be redeemed too.

It’s literally become my favorite podcast in just this past week. I’ve cried every episode so far- tears of joy of course! The grace of God is overwhelming in every episode. It’s all I’ve been listening to since I heard about it.

I was tearing up at work today listening to the story of Kathleen Lansing and the part in the story of her being bedside ... and the sound of the respirator. It was like I was back at my mom’s bedside again in May.

I am typing this having just finished listening to part 1 of the interview with Josh and Amy Glasscock. Megan and I have two biological kids - Austin and Emily. We are also a licensed foster family. I must admit I was fighting back tears as I listened to Josh and Amy’s amazing story. I can’t wait to listen to part 2.

The latest episode (Hannah Overton) has been my favorite. I know it’s longer and not the normal length of podcast, (thank you for the special treat!), but I enjoyed every minute of it! Hearing the story of a mom falsely accused and sentenced, and then serving 7 years in prison- woah! And how she compared that to the story of Joseph. Wow- it just really touched me.

As a mother of two & soon to be three little ones, I can only imagine. And yet, hearing the testimonies of all who had been touched through her obedience to God even in the midst of such a difficult situation was convicting. The cascade of God’s love through her was very compelling to say the least.

God has used your podcasts to encourage my faith greatly. He has walked me through a time of intense anxiety in my life, and your podcasts have reminded me that nothing is impossible with God and He is always working. I can’t thank you enough for what you are doing. Satan is defeated by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony. Praise God!

This is good news! Isn’t that refreshing. Wow so glad I chose to listen to something good rather than the “daily news”. Very easy to listen to and encouraging.

A Podcast to Remember. My podcast library is full of shows that I’ve subscribed to and listened to off and on over the years. I could never find one that I enjoyed enough to remember to tune in regularly. Until Compelled. Every episode is a fabulously-told story of real lives that have been extraordinarily changed by God. I look forward to each one and make sure I don’t miss an episode!

Just what we need! In a day where the world is constantly full of bad news, I saw a need for stories of what God is doing in His Kingdom here on earth! I was ready to research doing something like this myself when I heard about this podcast on World and Everything In It, and I was delighted by the production quality and skilled storytelling, as well as the hope it feeds my soul! God bless you all!
