Brandy Seago grew up in a family that was flawed, but still hers. But as her broken family was slowly whittled away, Brandy realized that a picture-perfect family might not exist, yet a perfect Father, really did.
Brandy lived her entire childhood feeling like she didn’t belong.
When Brandy was just 8-months-old, her mother gave up Brandy and her brothers, leaving them behind to be raised by their grandmother. For years, Brandy would be haunted, wondering if it was somehow her “fault” that her mom didn’t keep them.
A few years later, her father passed away from a drug overdose, and Brandy again felt betrayed; why was everyone she ever loved leaving her one way or another?
Then, the final blow fell, and Brandy lost the last shred of security and normalcy in her life… she felt sure she would never experience love or a sense of belonging ever again.
As Brandy grew up in different homes, being cared for by family and friends, she still felt lost and adrift. She thought she knew what the perfect home or perfect family was supposed to look like, and was certain she had lost all hope of ever finding one.
However, even though Brandy didn’t know it yet, God had a perfect plan for her life that she could never have anticipated or worked out on her own. However imperfect her journey may have been, He had a good purpose in every step.
Even as Brandy thought that no one could ever truly want her, her Heavenly Father was lovingly pursuing and protecting her, calling her to be His daughter and experience His peace.
But would Brandy answer the call before giving up?
