#113 My Bloods Gang Killed a Cop, Jesus Gave Me Life - Jath Candy

SEASON 11 PREMIERE! Jath Candy was a sworn member of a Bloods street gang. Jath found his entire identity in the gang and was willing to do anything he was asked.

When Jath was incarcerated for his involvement in a murder, he was willing to protect his gang no matter the cost. Until one day, when the Holy Spirit asked him a simple question.

Jath locked the front door behind him and stepped out onto the quiet street. It was a quiet Saturday afternoon with a slight chill. Jath flipped up his hood against the wind and he shoved his hands deep in his pockets and started ambling down the sidewalk.

“Just gotta meet up with the rest of the guys now, let ‘em know P.J. got out clean…”

Suddenly, before he could even react, two men erupted out of a nearby parked car, pointing their guns at his chest and yelling,

“Jath Candy, get down on your knees! Hands on your head, get on the ground NOW!”

“What the—”

Then it dawned on Jath.

“Undercover cops… they were waiting for me.”

The pair of plainclothes officers grabbed Jath by the shoulders, shoving him onto his knees on the cement and pinning his chest against the grille of the undercover police car.

Jath struggled, gritting his teeth as they pulled his hands behind his back.

“But why MY house? I wasn’t even at the shooting…”

An officer aggressively patted Jath down and pulled out his house keys; sirens filled the quiet neighborhood as a SWAT van roared down the street, screeching to a stop in front of Jath’s house. A SWAT team wearing bulletproof vests and helmets jumped out and swarmed across the lawn, weapons held out in front. Shock gripped Jath’s chest as he watched them enter his house, his face pressed against the hood of the car.

“They’re raiding my house…”

One of the cops pulled out a pair of handcuffs, cinching Jath’s wrists behind his back.

“Jath Candy, you are under arrest for involvement in the murder of police officer Daniel Bessant. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You—”

Grunting and writhing, Jath tried to wrench himself from the officer’s grasp.

“F$&%#** you, man! I don’t know what you’re talking about!”

Jath clenched his teeth, eyes dark.

“They’ll never get anything out of me or the gang… I ain’t a snitch.”
